Q: Is there a certain number I should leave my thermostat on?

A: That’s actually a hard question to answer as so many people like things different temperatures. It’s a good idea to have your thermostat whatever degree you can be comfortable at, but to also realize that for every ten degrees you lower your thermostat you will be increasing the running costs about 15%.

Q: Can I save on my cooling bill somehow? Is there a secret or something?

A: Unfortunately there’s no great secret to keeping your home cool without paying for it, but there are a few tips you can do to help keep your home cooler, which will then decrease the cost of running your air conditioner. First, pre-cool your home before a heat wave is expected. This will put much less stress on your air conditioning unit. Also, use it to cool in the evening hours. The unit can cool much more efficiently during the evening hours and it will cost you much less to cool your home. Also, make sure that you have your unit maintained on a regular basis to decrease the costs of repairing it and to make it work more efficiently.

Q: Should I have my unit inspected?

A: Experts agree that you should almost always have your unit inspected on a regular basis. Not doing so may mean that your unit breaks down more easily or that it is not working as efficiently as it could be. It is a good idea to have a La Crescenta heating and air conditioning repair specialist there to help you by maintaining an inspecting your unit.
